Promotion Guide

Introduction

Leaders may make changes to these guidelines and requirements in the future; please consider this a living document. Remember that Boot’s purpose is to teach players good character building habits before they embark on bigger and better things. The requirements for these promotions are to encourage players to engage in several positive aspects of Aardwolf.

If you believe you are due for a promotion, please write a note to Boot on board personal. This is your responsibility not ours. In your promotion request, state your exact numbers relevant to your promotion (e.g. global quests won: 15). Once your request is posted a Leader will check your request and give the promotion.

A note on exceptions:
These promotional requirements are designed to put our members in a good position when they spread their wings in other areas of Aardwolf. The first promotion is meant to be readily achievable by all, but you may notice that the requirements certainly become more demanding as one moves up in rank. No exceptions will be granted in replacement of any of these requirements, unless in extreme circumstances. Please note that a fear or dislike of global quests is not an acceptable reason for an alternative requirement.

Those promoted under previous guidelines retain their current rank, but are now subject to the new system for further promotion.

NOTE: All promotion requests require you to submit a list of completed goals when writing your note. Failure to do so will slow down the tasking/response!

1st Promotion Recruit —> Corpsman/Medic
Minimum 2 weeks in clan
2500 qp earned
25 cps completed
3 goals completed**
5 global quests completed****
Before promotion is completed must complete 1 task (usually a goal) given by a leader.

Upon completion of your promotion to Corpsman/Medic, you will be given access to additional Guides within this website.

2nd Promotion Corpsman/Medic —> Soldier
Minimum 6 weeks in Clan
7.5k qp earned
75 cps completed
10 goals completed**
25 global quests completed****
Before promotion is completed must complete 1 or 2 task(s) (usually goals) given by a leader.

3rd Promotion Soldier —> Elite Soldier
Minimum 3 months in Clan
15k qp earned
150 cps completed
15 Goals Completed**
50 Global quests completed****
Must compose a guide or resource of some kind for our web site. This can be on any subject you are familiar with. It might also include going above and beyond in other ways. As long as you can elaborate on what you have done for us in your promotion request.

4th Promotion Elite Soldier —> Drill Sergeant
Minimum 4 Months in Clan
50k qp Earned
250 cps completed
30 Goals Completed**
100 global quests completed****

Drill sergeant should be viewed as a sort of junior staff. Promotion to this rank requires submission of a guide for our web site just as the prior promotion. In this rank, you may be expected to conduct the occasional interview for new applicants if a leader or staffer is not available.

Staff Requirements   (Special Ops)
Must have reached the rank of Drill Sergeant.
Must be active on clantalk assisting in answering questions.
Must have sat in on several interviews and helped with at least 1 tour.
Must possess a decent knowledge of the mud and ability to find answers through help files. A demonstration of this ability may be requested.
Becoming an advisor is highly recommended but not required.

If you meet these requirements please post a note to boot leaders on personal board stating your desire to become staff.

** It is okay to ask for help and use the clan guides.
**** You may substitute completed campaigns for global quests, 1:1.
