In this guide I will explain how to get trivial portals and how to do restrings. First off a basic explanation of color codes. Aardwolf has standard color codes you can see with help colors. Also there is a 256 color option called xterm which help xterm can help with.
Trivia portals:
When requesting a trivia portal, you will want to write on the upgrades board and address the note to imm. What they will need to know is the following.
Keywords: What keywords you want, can be up to 3.
Shortdesc: This is what the portal will look like in inventory. It can be up to 100 characters including color codes.
Longdesc: This is what it looks like on the floor of a room or when you type look keyword. It can be up to 80 characters including color codes.

When you write yours, in order to make it come out with the color strings like above you have to put 2 @ symbols. This is convenient for imms so they can cut and paste.
Keep in mind Imms process upgrades in orders so it might be a couple of days before you get your portal. Keep patient.
Now restrings are very similar, but are done in person with an imm. Restrings cost 2tp per object.
I usually prewrite what I want with color codes and such and then when I find an imm, usually Ocho, via who imm and they come to me(I’m in my manor but can be a clan hall or such) I then give them the item I want them to restring, and then I cut and paste the info like this

After immhax they will give you back your new bright blue “A Pointy Dagger”.
Generally If I have a lot of restrings to do I will tell the imm how many I have and always give them the option to do as little of them as they have time for. Sometimes it might take 2-3 sessions to get 10 restrings done. Again be patient and kind.
