Before your first Remort
Congrats on making it to 200 for the first time. There’s a whole lot of mechanics you’re about to be interacting with for the first time and I’d like to walk you through them a little. There’s a lot to learn, but I’m going to focus on the stuff I think you need to know now (at your first SH / remort) and gloss over the rest.
TLDR: Regardless of your primary class, you will want to put everything you got into STR with a little in DEX if thats cheap. Read on to find out why.
Super Hero
Once you hit 200 you’re at the end of leveling. Super hero is the process of switching from leveling mode into late game mode. Don’t get too comfortable, you won’t be here long.
For your first time at SH, your current character will become a SH, keeping all of the stats. You just pick up a few extra spells and skills. The one exception is that your unused practices are lost (more on this at the end).
There are some activities at SH like epics but as a baby SH with low stats you’ll likely not be invited unless it’s a speical event. Most people will dive back into leveling via remorting.
Loud vs Quiet
Normally when you SH you can either do so quietly for 500qps or loudly for 750qps. Loud has some benefits including giving everyone a double exp for a bit and then everyone loves you more than ever.
However for your very first SH you get another option, SH free. For your very first SH use the command “superhero” with nothing extra for zero qps.
Regardless of if you plan on being frugal or fame seeking in the future, for this first time save the QPs and spend them at level 1 on quest items.
Remort
Remorting is the process of resetting your character to level 1 and doing the whole thing over again. When you do, your SH character is put “on hold” and all your stats are set to level 1.
When you remort you get to “add” a class. But you will mainly remain whatever class you were before. Your first class is called your primary class and it will always be your strongest (by a long shot). So for example if you were a mage before, and then remort to warrior, you’re now a spell caster who can also kinda hit things. Your pclass skills / spells are stronger than all of your others, so if you are a pwarrior, and picked up mage, don’t waste trains on int.
If you want to change your primary class, thats a different mechanic that can be done at any time “help classchange”.
As you level, you will auto re-learn your primary classes spells/skills as you hit the appropriate level. In addition you will have the chance to practice the skills/spells for the new class.
As you level you will train and practice with what you earn during the leveling process, just like the first time around.
Super Hero Redux
When you’re ready to SH for the second time the game has a problem, which stats to use, the ones from the first or second mort? The answer is (metaphorically) your leveling character is melted down into trains and practices, then your converted back into your SH char and given all those trains/pracs. There’s details to the this process that I’m glossing over, but the gist is there.
Also it doesn’t matter if you used a train or saved it, so spend your trains as you’re leveling in whatever fashion makes leveling easier.
Item / Weight
While leveling, nothing about your SH stats matter, that character is on hold, with one major exception.
Characters were struggling to carry all of the stuff they had amassed during 200 levels with the stats of a level 1 char. So item capacity and weight limit are calculated based on your current STR/DEX or SH STR/DEX whichever is better. This is the only part of your SH char that will make your leveling life easier. Weight and item limits can really make leveling a pain.
Item / weight is determined primarily by STR. Even if you are a primary mage and have been pumping INT so far, put everything you’ve got into STR.
The formula for carry capacity (number of items you can carry) is “str + (dex / 2)”. So spend on STR, but if strength costs more than twice dex, spend on dex instead.
At 201, if you remove all your gear and all your spellups, you will see what your new item/weight limit will be when you remort. Here you can see if you are going to be over after remort. An aard-bag is a solid purchase if you’re struggling with weight, but your qps may be better spent elsewhere.
Rebuild
Now that you know that STR and DEX are what matter at SH you may be frustrated because your class has pushed you to spend all of your trains elsewhere. Firstly don’t worry about it too much, as you progress this hiccup will seem small. Secondly consider doing a rebuild. If you haven’t changed class in 7 calendar days then you can use “classchange” to reset all of your trains and reallocate them. If you’ve used classchange recently then you can consider rebuilding which will burn 5% of your trains, but may be a decent choice regardless.
Again, don’t worry too much. The amount of trains you’re dealing with now will feel comicaly small later in the game. There’s really no way to “mess up”, you always progress and can rebuild things often.
Low level campaigns
Campaigns that you get below level 50 are very easy in comparison to later in the levels. So much easier that it’s often worth using the noexp to prevent leveling to ensure you can use your 1cp per level before leveling again.
Level 1 Quest items
You will be back here at level 1 many many more times. As such many people recommend buying several aard items at level 1 so they are available right after remort. Ask on clanchat for a raging debate over what to buy, but my personal suggestion (since I got you here anyway) is Helm of true sight.
Counter point from Epsilon:
buy aura -> breastplate -> helm. Aura’s going to give you the most protection for your QP, breastplate’s a fairly solid incremental increase, helm is great for detects but there’s some pclasses where it’s not nearly as useful as the others. The helm is a massive quality of life increase. I’m not going to deny that. But it doesn’t make your character able to kill things better or make them less likely to die.
First SH / Remort Checklist
Putting it all together, here’s my list of what to do when you hit 200 for the first time:
- Celebrate
- Convert spare pracs into trains: “train convertall” at a trainer
- SH via the command “superhero” (without loud or quiet)
- Optionally: classchange or rebuild to reset your trains.
- Train STR and DEX as much as you can, heavy on the STR.
- Remort – the remort chamber walks you through this pretty well
- use the “noexp” command to ensure you hang out at level 1 until you’re ready
- Buy whatever level 1 items you were hoping for.
- Start campaigning

Do it for the Plot
This will have the story and also some hints before giving the exact commands needed. Steps are separated by ===== lines. The intent is that you can stop at each ===== and attempt the next step on your own, after each ===== will be the exact command or place or person needed to continue.
Goals in general require very specific operations out of a near infinite set of possibilities, the hope is that this guide will narrow down the possibilities to a range that will still provide a sense of accomplishment while reducing the frustration and floundering.
This goal feels like the old point and click adventure games. Wander around and find things that look out of place or mobs that are doing things. Interact with each in isolation and you’ll amass a collection of items. Then look around some more for where those items may fit.
Unlike other goals, it there are many parts where you can’t really work backwards from the need to a logical source for the item. Like often you will need a scroll so you’ll head to the library. In this place you’ll see a tree with a hole, reach in the hole and pull out a knife. Later you’ll find a loaf of bread that needs cutting and be thankful you had the knife. If you did it in the other order, you’d be looking all over for a knife.
All of this is to say, as you move around this area, if anything catches your eye see if you can do something with it. You may later be thankful that you pulled that knife out of a tree.
Lets find Borteg and get this started.
==========================================================================================
Head up main street to room 4011 and take the oath.
** Task Added : Raid the Armchair Avengers!
** Task Added : Find Rath’ka the sage.
Borteg told you that his sage will be able to advise you on the missing items. Better find him!
==========================================================================================
HINT: where doesn’t work, but hunt does
He’s in room 4029 (run n2enw)
say Borteg sent me
** Task Done : Find Rath’ka the sage.
** Task Added : Retrieve Rath’ka’s crystal ball.
Rath’ka told you that he believes that Pordiz has possession of his ball.
Rath’ka needs
a pair of winged shoes
a winged helmet
an egyptian treasure
a symbol of freedom
a giant vampire tooth
a giggling head
But first he needs his a crystal ball.
Lets find Pordiz and get the crystal ball
==========================================================================================
He’s in room 4019 (Pordiz’s Home, bottom left of town)
say crystal ball
He’ll attack then give up and give you the ball
Return the crystal ball
==========================================================================================
give ball rath
** Task Done : Retrieve Rath’ka’s crystal ball.
** Task Added : Find a pair of winged shoes.
** Task Added : Find a winged helmet.
** Task Added : Find an Egyptian treasure.
** Task Added : Find a symbol of freedom.
** Task Added : Find a giant vampire tooth.
** Task Added : Find a giggling head.
NOTE: As you get each item, you can turn them into Borteg to complete the task. Or you can wait till you have all 6.
Rath invites us to their room and says they can use items from the area to help us find the items we seek.
If we give Rath an item that has a keyword matching the item we’re looking for, he will give us a hint (most hints are next to useless). The first two tasks are based on keywords too.
So lets find some wings and give them to Rath.
==========================================================================================
‘At the Top of the White Mountain’ (4043, head up the trail in the NW part of town) there are some dragons who have wings….
Once acquired, return to Rath and
nod
give wings rath
Task 4 : Find a pair of winged shoes. Seek out the blacksmith, Klach. He can assist you in finding the right shoes.
This next step is also built on keywords and specific items. It is not an easy logic jump here.
==========================================================================================
You need to sell klach some wings and some shoes, he will then combine them into the item you need.
But the wings needed are not the ones we have. We need a different set.
The shoes can be any item with the keyword shoes (I think). Even if obtained outside this zone.
==========================================================================================
The wings needed are the broken wings from the Dragon
==========================================================================================
Go to the dragon in the training grounds (room 4037, NW part of town).
give wings dragon
get broken
Now you need a pair or shoes. I believe this trigger looks for an item with the keyword shoes.
Sadly the only item called shoes I could find in the zone are invis, which means they can’t be sold.
You can buy a set of shoes from “Elle’s Peasant Rags” in hodgepodge (room 30487)
==========================================================================================
Goto Klach in ‘The Armory’ (4025 in ne part of town)
sell broken
sell shoes
wait a second or two
buy “winged dragon shoes”
This completes the task, but doesn’t close it, you can return the item to Borteg if you want, or wait. We need to gather the other items and then use them all to finish the goal.
You can give this item to Rath and they will say You give a pair of winged dragon shoes to Rath’ka the sage.
Rath’ka the sage says ‘Once, you have to make a choice, OneToedSloth. For good or evil.’
Let’s do the Helmet, it’s similar to the shoes.
==========================================================================================
The Helmet is easier, it needs the original set of wings (perhaps required to be from this area) and a helmet (any).
the “Armor Tent” in wtc has a helm (37896)
sell helmet
sell wings
buy “winged dragon helm”
Let do Task 6 : Find an Egyptian treasure.
There’s a skeleton who’s looking for some cloths….
==========================================================================================
The skeleton is in the “Secret Passage”
From the entrance
run 2n2ws
enter secret
He needs “rags” to get dressed. Some are on mobs, one set is in a container.
==========================================================================================
There’s a pile of bones at Borteg’s feet that have the torso rags
There are 5 sets for different body locations on different mobs: Arms, legs, hands, head, feet
All of the rags are on troll warriors
==========================================================================================
Give all six sets to the skeleton and get the treasure of the mummy
next is Task 7 : Find a symbol of freedom.
By giving random items found in the zone to rath you may stumble upon giving a spell book gives this less than helpful hint:
You give the Book of Witchcraft to Rath’ka the sage.
Rath’ka the sage says ‘Free will to make intelligent decisions.’
==========================================================================================
Because Rath is interested in the book, lets go ask Worla some questions.
Return the Worla and say ‘free will’ for her to reply
Worla, the mage exclaims, “Indeed! That is one of the ingredients!”
Worla, the mage exclaims, “Now name another one!”
==========================================================================================
Sadly I bumbled through this step and sadly I can’t go back and try different things. But saying ‘knowledge’ twice triggered the next step
Worla, the mage exclaims, “You’re correct, OneToedSloth. Now listen carefully!”
When God created man, He gave him Will. By creating the Apple He gave
him Choice. Then he told him not to eat from it to gave him Knowledge.
Will, Choice and Knowledge are the ingredients for True Freedom.
Worla, the mage says ‘Hmm, the book also mentions another, rather filthy ingredient…’
More bumbling lead me to the apple. Oddly it required helping a salmon….
==========================================================================================
Find the jumping salmon that wants to get to the top of the waterfall in ‘A Small Basin’ (4170, the start of the creek is just west of the the town entrance).
Cast fly or levitate on it. This summons a bear, who has the apple. I’ve no idea why a bear has the apple we want or how we were supposed to know.
We now have the Choice and Knowledge. We need the Will and filthy.
More bumbling around, lead me to wanting to get past the whirlpool mob. (in the NE part of town is ‘Northeast of Anthrox’ which has an opening, which leads to ‘At the Whirlpool’).
I have no idea how you’re supposed to find this, but the whirlpool lets you by if you’re poisoned. There must be someone who talks about loosing their key in a whirlpool, but I never found it.
You can either case poison on your self or kill ‘a troll training sergeant’ at ‘The Military Training Grounds’ for ‘some hawthorn berries’ which are poisonous.
==========================================================================================
Once going south past the whirlpool you can get the ‘emerald key’. Somewhere there’s an emerald chest.
==========================================================================================
Once you get the eye of will from the chest south of where you got the key, we need to find the final filthy ingredient and somehow mix all these items together. Look for a way to mix them together.
==========================================================================================
There’s a witch who has a cauldron, and it’s already got some slime in it….
==========================================================================================
Go to Laratha’s Home (4010 center of town) and add the Book, Eye, Apple and Slime to the cauldron.
HINT: Be sure you can see invis.
Next we will work on Task 8 : Find a giant vampire tooth.
A giant tooth must have come from a giant vampire…..
==========================================================================================
In the blood swamps (head east out of town) there’s a giant statue of the vampire Lamagra, but to get it’s tooth we will have to do something to it. This is another case of bumbling around helping or watching random mobs to see what tools they drop.
I will give you the high level idea. We need to summon lamagra, to do this we need to provide as shaman the items needed to summon, those items are a book and glass key. The items are found in the zone, completely unrelated to the Vampires or shamans.
It’ll start with a wasp, then a bee, putting a ball in a hole, finding and selling a ruby amulet, removing the curse from a troll and giving him a stone for a brick, trading the brick for a key and finally progressing through some shamans to finally get the vampire.
I frankly have no idea how anyone was supposed to find this convoluted path, so feel free to poke around at the specific characters mentioned above and then peek ahead for a specific step
==========================================================================================
Head to the wasp (4058 NW part of the area, under the training ground), wait for them to turn themselves into a tar-pot
There’s a Bee Queen in the blood swamps who disappears when you enter…. how to stop them from leaving…..
==========================================================================================
Goto the blood swamps (east out of town) and look for the Bee Queen (4138)
drop the tar-pot and kill the queen.
From this you get another book.
Now we need to find a ball and and a hole to place it in. The hole is somehwere in the kobold caves.
==========================================================================================
To get to the kobold caves from the entrance, head east to ‘A Large, Deep Pool’ and go down. Follow the underground waterways and it leads to the kobold caves.
In the freezer (4112) a ball is chained up (I’ve no idea why).
open chain
get ball chain
The hole is in the ‘Secret Room’ in the NE part of the Kobold Caves (4124)
put ball hole
wait a bit
get all hole
this will give you a ring.
Now get a ruby from a pair of skulls in ‘A Secret Hideout’, found off the underwater path to the Kobold Caves. Again this may be something you found earlier.
==========================================================================================
goto A Secret hideout (4091)
From the zone start (‘The end of the path’)
run 2n2ed3e3ns2u
Open the left skull with the key in the right
This gives a ruby amulet.
Wasn’t there some mob that wanted a ruby?
==========================================================================================
Head to Ruh’Rah
sell him the amulet, buy back the leftover stone
Lets go help (then kill) Larkon, he’s behind a waterfall
He’s cursed, lets fix that
==========================================================================================
If you need a wand of remove curse, Santa has a candy cane that works, he’s over in Christmas Vacation (6214)
Remove the curse on him. Then give him the stone. Finally kill him for his brick
There was someone doing a construction project…..
==========================================================================================
Head to Gargul who’s on the “Remains of a bridge” (4160 west part of the zone)
give him the brick for a key.
With the book and key we can finally summon the vampire. These are the items needed by the shaman to summon the vampire.
==========================================================================================
Head to the statue and give the glass key and book to the shaman
You now have to chase the vampires around town.
Once they are dead, pickup the tooth.
last item: Task 9 : Find a giggling head.
The head is found in the dining hall of the Kobold Caves.
Head to the center of the feast table (4104) and Quardar will have something to say.
I’ll give you the hint that tables can be opened apparently and everything you need for this one is in this small area.
This one is very doable and nicely done, if ever there was a time to try one without looking, this is it.
==========================================================================================
go to one of the southern corners, open table and get the leg out
go back to Quardar, go east and south
open the table with the leg and get the hat.
head to the jester, and lead him back to Quardar
Wait a bit and get the head.
Now go turn the items into Borteg
** Task Added : Meet with Axa.
Be sure to wear all 6 items
You will need to say something to commit.
NOTE: You’re about to be in for a major fight (took me 3 times). If you die you can just come back to Axa (make sure you’ve got all 6 items on) and try again. You do not need to regather the items.
NOTE: There are three waves of multiple mobs. You need different tactics on each, see below if you need tips.
==========================================================================================
Goto Axa’s sleeping room
say I will lead your hordes
say I am prepared
say I am willing
say I am ready
say yes
climb ladder
The first round is nothing special.
In the second round you have to kill the side chars before the main. “aim medic” or “aim warrior” if necessary.
In the third round it’s the opposite, make sure you’re attacking the main Axa. Her guards will heal her but if you kill a guard she’ll respawn them so you just need to burn her down.
A good spellup from a friend can help quite a bit, along with a lot of potions.
Once she falls you’ll get the armor and complete the goal.
Congrats the goal is finished! There’s a follow in goal offered by Durc
With that you’ve done everything in part 1!
Part 2
Goal information for: Anthrox2 - Completed
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that you have bested Axa, there are a few small tasks that the local
tavern owner would like you to take care of. If you can make it through his
drunken ramblings, that is!
Congrats on understanding Durc's Drunken Desires! Now if you want to visit
the super secret Speakeasy located in the back of his tavern, just give him a
nod!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Difficulty : Medium
Recommended Level: 110
Maximum Level : 120
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Head to Durc (west part of town), he’s got a task for you. (this may be level locked, it didn’t trigger at first, but did trigger when I came back later after remort).
Task 1 : Kill Tiamat Durc told you to find Tiamat's ring, wear it, and kill the beast.
Hopefully you found the ring already in your careful investigation of the area. Hint: It’s on the east side of town, in an item mentioned in a description.
==========================================================================================
The ring is in a nest in the room ‘East of Anthrox’
get all nest
Now wear it and find tiamat. Note you’ll need to be around 84-87 here depending on the level of the ring you get from the nest.
==========================================================================================
Kill tiamat in ‘The Cage of the Tiamat’ (just w of the center of town) and you’ll receive their claw.
Task 2 : Return to Durc
==========================================================================================
Return to durc in ‘In The Warty Troll’. Upon arrival he will offer the next task.
Task 3 : Complete Ragadu's Mace Find the blacksmith and have him complete Ragadu's Mace!
You may have spotted the dwarves who finish uncompleted weapons, well the oni hold the key to this bonus mission.
==========================================================================================
Head to “The Cage of the Oni” (4048 north side of town) and search the bed for the key.
The key unlocks a safe in Ragadu’s room.
==========================================================================================
get the unfinished mace from the safe
give the mace to the dwarves and after a fight you’ll have a nice vorpal mace.
==========================================================================================
Return to Durc and he’ll give you the next task
Task 5 : Triton Emerald?! Xixaxu is on fire, give him a bucket of something to help him.
Finding Xixaxu is easy, finding a bucket of liquid for him isn’t. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not water.
==========================================================================================
Kill a puking troll for a bucket (‘A Troll House’ on far east side of town)
give it to Xiaxu
That didn’t help but we got a key, wasn’t there a king working on a key in the underground water area?
==========================================================================================
Goto the king in the cell and give him the key.
Return the the Queen while visible and she’ll thank you for saving the king and ask you to kill the chieftain.
==========================================================================================
Find the chieftain and kill him for his staff.
Return the staff to the king, who’s now by the queen
==========================================================================================
Return to the King and Queen
Give the staff to the king and give him back his wooden key.
Once the events end, grab that emerald
==========================================================================================
Return to Durc and the goal will complete.
Congrats the goal is finished!
